Top 10 Photos of 2015

The following gallery shows 25 finalists for my “Top 10 Photos of 2015.” The photos are presented in reverse-chronological order beginning in November 2015 and ending in April 2015.

Wow. The choices are tough, Walter. If I understand this correctly, I don’t have to rank order my choices yet. So, in numerical order, here are my selections for the “finals”: 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 13, 15, 17, and 19.

  3. laura lecce Says:

    Hi Walter,
My favorites are no:7 and 17. I think its because the color of the dragonfly stands out so much over a relatively simple and contrasting background. If I really had to chose, I’d have to say the pink one (7), maybe because I think pink is more rare than blue, not sure if that’s actually the case, what do you think?
    Regards,
    Laura

  8. cindydyer Says:

I’m going to go with #9 at my top choice because of the bonus cricket-voyeur aspect! There are lots of other lovely ones, but that one is cool.

    • Walter Sanford Says:

The “bonus cricket” is an exuvia or cast skin, the exoskeleton left behind when a dragonfly nymph emerges to become an adult. BTW, you can vote for up to 10 photos — did you intend to cast only one vote, Cindy?

  9. Anonymous Says:

Walter, you sure do make this tough, I love all of them, but here is my ranking of my favorite top 8. Here is my ranking #9 ( love the positioning, color and the elements, plant, water, nymph casing). #25 (position of subject and the detail). #15 (position, detail and reflection n the eyes). #6 & #7 (detail and coloring). #8 (coloration and detail). #13 (coloration and detail). #16.
