Blue-faced Meadowhawk (Batch 3)

This gallery features photos from Batch 3 (of 4) showing male Blue-faced Meadowhawk dragonflies (Sympetrum ambiguum) spotted during a recent photowalk around a vernal pool at a remote location in Huntley Meadows Park, Fairfax County, Virginia USA.

Here’s looking at you, kid.

The last photograph is my favorite in this batch.

These are awesome photos – I love the bright red and bright blue colouring of this type of dragonfly!

Of course I like the head-on shot, Walter, but the first one is my real favorite, because of the way that you were able to isolate the dragonfly from the background.
